How the Process Works

Assessment
We check the condition of the frames, seals, trims and sills, and tell you honestly if any window would be better replaced than sprayed.

Deep clean and degrease
Years of atmospheric grime, algae and old cleaning product residue are removed. Nothing bonds to a dirty frame, so this stage matters more than any other.

Abrade and repair
Surfaces are keyed by hand, minor blemishes are addressed and any loose or perished trim is flagged before coating.
- 4
Masking and protection
Glass, brickwork, sills, render, gutters and planting are masked and sheeted. Overspray control is a preparation job, not a spraying job.
- 5
Priming and coating
An adhesion primer suited to UPVC is applied, followed by controlled topcoats built up in thin, even passes.
- 6
De-mask and inspect
Masking is removed carefully, edges and returns are checked, and we walk the elevation with you before we leave.
Colours and Finishes
Colour choice is effectively open. Most Cheshire and Staffordshire homeowners choose one of the following, but we can match any RAL reference.
- Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) — by far the most requested modern colour
- Black (RAL 9005) and Jet Black for a sharp, contemporary contrast
- Agate Grey (RAL 7038) and Light Grey for a softer, less severe look
- Chartwell Green, Sage and other heritage tones on period properties
- Cream, Off White and Traffic White where a clean classic look suits the house
- Any RAL colour matched to an existing door, garage door or window

What Can and Cannot Be Sprayed
Normally suitable
- White, cream and caramel UPVC frames that have faded or yellowed
- Brown and mahogany woodgrain frames being modernised
- Mixed-age frames that no longer match each other
- Sound frames on conservatories, porches and bay windows
- Aluminium and previously coated frames, after assessment
Not suitable
- Frames with failed, misted or blown double glazing (replace the unit first)
- Frames that are cracked, distorted or no longer weathertight
- Windows with perished seals or gaskets that need replacing
- Surfaces that cannot be safely accessed without specialist access equipment

A properly prepared and correctly coated frame is a long-term finish rather than a temporary refresh. Longevity depends on preparation, exposure and aftercare, so we will not quote a fixed number of years — what we do commit to is our 2-year workmanship guarantee on the finish we apply.
Yes, and it is the single most common request we get. White frames sprayed anthracite grey (RAL 7016) give the same modern look as new grey windows without replacing anything.
Yes. Brown and woodgrain-effect frames are prepared in the same way as white ones. Darker existing colours may need an extra coat to achieve full, even coverage in a lighter shade.
Spraying reuses the frames and glazing you already own, so you are paying for preparation, coatings and labour rather than new units and installation. We will not publish a percentage saving, because the honest answer depends on your house and the replacement you were comparing it against.
Yes. Internal frames can be sprayed where you want the colour carried through, with the room fully masked and protected. Many customers spray outside only, some do both — tell us which when you enquire so the quotation is accurate.
Timescales depend on the number of windows, the access required and the weather. A typical house is a short project rather than a week-long job, and we confirm realistic dates in writing with your quotation.
No. Glass, gaskets, hinges, handles and trickle vents are masked before any coating is applied, and masking is removed carefully once the finish is sound.
Yes. Exterior spraying needs dry conditions and sensible temperatures, so we plan around the forecast. If the weather turns, we reschedule rather than compromise the finish.
Yes. If you have a composite or UPVC door in a specific colour, we can work to a RAL reference or match against the door itself so the whole elevation is consistent.
