How the Process Works

Check the door set
We look at the panel, frame, beads, seals and hardware, and confirm the door is a sensible candidate before quoting.

Clean and degrease
Handles, letterplates and the areas around them collect the most residue, so the door is thoroughly degreased.

Key the surface
The panel and frame are abraded by hand so the primer has something to bite into, including mouldings and recesses.

Remove or mask furniture
Handles, letterplates, numerals and glazing are removed or masked so there are no hard edges in the finish.

Prime and coat
An adhesion primer followed by controlled topcoats, built up in light passes to keep the panel even.

Refit and inspect
Door furniture is refitted once the coating is sound, the door is checked for operation and we review the finish with you.
Colours and Finishes
Entrance doors are where homeowners tend to be boldest. Popular choices include:

- Doors that no longer close, lock or seal properly
- Panels that are cracked, delaminating or water damaged
- Doors with blown or misted glazed units, until the unit is replaced
- Textured surfaces that are actively peeling from a previous coating

Yes. Doors are one of the most straightforward items to recolour, and the change is immediately visible from the street.
Usually yes, subject to assessment. Composite surfaces vary, so we check the existing finish and texture before confirming.
Where practical we remove door furniture and refit it afterwards, which gives a cleaner edge than masking alone. Anything that cannot be removed safely is masked instead.
Not during application and initial drying. We plan the work so you have access through another door, and we tell you before we start how long the door will be out of use.
Yes. Interior faces can be sprayed with the hallway masked and protected. Tell us at quotation stage so the scope and timings are right.
A single door is typically a short visit rather than a multi-day job, but drying and curing time still has to be respected before the door is used normally.
