How the Process Works

Assess the door
We identify the door type and substrate — steel, aluminium, UPVC, GRP or timber — because preparation differs for each.

Wash and degrease
Road film, algae and chalked residue are washed off and the surface is degreased.

Treat and abrade
Any surface corrosion is addressed on metal doors, and the whole panel is keyed ready for primer.

Mask the surround
Driveway, brickwork, tracks, seals, handles and any adjacent glazing are protected before coating.

Prime and topcoat
A suitable primer for the substrate, then controlled topcoats applied in even passes across the full panel.

Check operation
Once the coating is sound, we remove masking and check the door runs and seals as it did before.
Colours and Finishes
Garage doors look best either matched to the windows or deliberately contrasted with the brickwork. Common choices:
- Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) — by far the most requested modern colour
- Black (RAL 9005) and Jet Black for a sharp, contemporary contrast
- Agate Grey (RAL 7038) and Light Grey for a softer, less severe look
- Chartwell Green, Sage and other heritage tones on period properties
- Cream, Off White and Traffic White where a clean classic look suits the house
- Any RAL colour matched to an existing door, garage door or window

- Roller doors, subject to assessment of the slat condition
- Doors that have faded, chalked or been previously painted soundly
Not suitable
- Doors with significant rot, perforation or structural rust
- Doors that no longer open, close or seal correctly
- Panels with heavily flaking existing paint that will not stabilise
- Doors due to be replaced for mechanical reasons
